RUNNING THE G3i (SERIES -SC-E) SYSTEM
On start up, the SC-E module will receive the signal from the E/PMAG or normal contact points depending on whether there is an impulse coupler retard lag or not. The SC-E will automatically excite the ignition to serve as a hot multiple spark discharge at 20° of crankshaft rotation while cranking. There is no need for a shower of sparks vibrator or slick start. There are different start up configurations to choose from. After the start up, there will instantly be a much more noticeable smoother idle with the system on. Both the EI and magneto will fire together in perfect sync. With the SC-E on during run up, go to the suggested specific rpm for setting the mixture and continue with the ignition cycle rpm drop left, right. When the P/EMAG is cycled off, the left magneto will still be in EI mode and revert back to it fixed timing signal from the magneto’s points. There will be a rpm drop and the exhaust note will change when cycling from left to right ignitions because the timing of both ignitions are not sync. Next switch the SC-E system off and repeat in normal magneto mode. Remember this is the back up. At cruise, lean as normal. The fuel consumption will be reduced significantly. Starting will be much easier, hot or cold, with fouled or worn plugs – overall smoother engine operation - faster climb rates - less carbon build up in the cylinders and on the valves and better compression percentages. Spark plugs will burn much cleaner and be less susceptible to fowling. Additionally, magneto contact points wear will go to almost nothing.

The G3i will automatically excite the ignition to serve as a hot multiple spark discharge at 20° of crankshaft rotation while cranking. There is no need for a shower of sparks vibrator or slick start. There are many start up and retard configurations to choose from. After the start up, there will instantly be a much more noticeable smoother idle with the system on. Both magnetos fire together in perfect sync. With the G3i on during run up, go to the suggested specific rpm for setting the mixture and continue with the ignition cycle rpm drop left, right. There will be a very minimal rpm drop and the exhaust note will not sound so lazy when cycling from left to right ignitions. Next switch the system off and repeat in normal magneto mode. The G3i interfaces with most Slick & Bendix aircraft magnetos, with very minimal magneto modification.
